Hello to everyone from Portland, Oregon..
The drive today was remarkable. There were rolling hills everywhere we looked. We saw a lot of mountains, including Mt. Shasta. My favorite part of the drive was seeing all the different rivers that ran through some of the cities we drove through. Kurt said his favorite part of the drive was seeing Southern Oregon (where all the snow covered mountains were). Brooklyn got to play in the snow for the first time and she loved it!! She tried to eat the snow when we were at the rest stop.. what a goofball. The second half of the drive was just a bunch of rain and wind. Traffic was pretty decent throughout the whole trip thankfully :)
Well tomorrow is the last day of driving... thank goodness. Kurt and I finally get to see where we are going to call 'home' for the next four years. I hope it is everything we hoped for :) Well I am getting a headache so I am going to head to bed...
Goodnight everyone <3
I miss you Dad, Mom, and Richard! The Christmas was not the same with out you all :(

Bakersfield, CA to Redding, CA
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!!!
Today we drove from Bakersfield, California to Redding, California. Almost the whole drive was very cloudy and raining. There was nothing to look at other than a bunch of grape vineyards and some type of fruit or pecan trees. Once we got to Redding we checked into our hotel and got settled in. Then we went to try to find something for dinner. We drove all around town, but almost everything was closed. Luckily we found a diner named "Black Bear Diner". The parking lot was packed, but somehow we got a seat right when we walked in. Kurt ordered a reuben sandwich and I got chicken tenders. After dinner we went back to the hotel.
Well we are going to head to bed.. hopefully the drive tomorrow will be more interesting.
Goodnight <3

Phoenix, AZ to Bakersfield, CA
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVE!!
Kurt and I tried to get on the road early this morning because we wanted to get to California as early as possible. We make a quick stop at Ritz Camera shop inside the Scottsdale Mall because I wanted to get a new lens and some filters for my camera also. The mall at Scottsdale is soooo fancy, big, and confusing to get around (if you are not familiar with the layout). After leaving the mall Kurt and I headed to the Red Rock Mountains. There we went on a little hike and took some pictures of each other and the pups. After leaving the mountains, we got on the road, heading for California :) Right when we crossed into California we immediately saw beautiful snow capped mountains. For miles and miles, all we saw was mountains with snow on the top... then we arrived in Bernardino, California. There were saw the San Bernardino National Park. The park had a ton of snow and was 33 degrees!! Once we left the park we headed towards Bakersfield. It was weird driving at night in the mountains because you could see the outline of the mountains you were driving through, but you could not actually see them... (if that makes any sense)... Well, Kurt and I are exhausted.. The time zone changes and the drive is starting to take a toll on us. Hopefully we will get to sleep in some tomorrow..
Well we are heading to bed because tomorrow is another 6.5 hour drive to Redding, California :)
Merry Early Christmas Everyone!!
rip sarge.. we miss you buddy :(

El Paso to Phoenix
Today we drove from El Paso, TX to Phoenix, Arizona...
Most of the drive consisted of strong winds, dust, tumbleweeds (yes.. just like what you see in old western movies), and traffic. What surprised me the most about this part of the trip was that there is NO grass! When we stopped to let the puppies go potty we tried to find grass for them, but there was none. Instead of grass there is just a bunch of dirt. Also while driving through Arizona there were TONS of cacti :) When I saw the cacti it reminded me of my Grandmother, Betty. She loved cacti. She even had cacti garden in the backyard. It was so beautiful <3...
Once we settled in Phoenix Kurt and I went to Sylvia's. It was a mexican restaurant that was kind of like a Mexican Fuddruckers. When we walked in, we ordered our food. Then we got a number and sat down in a booth. Kurt went and got some chips and salsa some the salsa bar. Then once our food was ready they brought it to our table. It was a very yummy restaurant. After dinner we stopped at a pet store named Wag-N-Wash. It was such an awesome pet store. They had homemade biscuits, pupcakes, and other treats. We got Brooks and Brooklyn a toy and some pupcakes for Christmas :)
Well time for bed. We love you all :)

Good Morning
Morning everyone! Last night I watched my Bears defeat the Packers in overtime :) and for some reason this morning I got up at 5:15AM. Since I am up so early.. I am trying to upload more videos and pictures. It might take awhile because there are a lot of videos and photos. For my photo uploads I am no longer using Kodak EasyShare. I switched to photobucket because it seemed that the photos would upload quicker. Also, on photobucket I will hopefully be able to upload my videos too. So I am going to start using only photobucket. I will email the link to everyone once I get more photos uploaded.

Sonora, TX to El Paso, TX
Kurt and I made it to our next stop which is in El Paso, TX. It is only 8:56 pm right now and we are watching the Chicageo Bears football game and the game is already in the 4th quarter!! Unfortunately the Packers are up by 7 points with 14 minutes left in the game.
Our drive to day was very interesting and un-beautiful (as Kurt would say when he wants to say something is beautiful). Throughout our drive we saw numerous mountain ranges. We got a chance to get some good pictures, which I will have uploaded some time soon. On our trip we saw the World's Largest Roadrunner and the fort in Ft. Stockton, TX. We also saw the West Texas Mountain ranges. Kurt and I got a chance to take pictures with some cacti on the sid of the highway (that was for Grandma Miller <3). Once we got to El Paso, Kurt and I stopped at UTEP's football stadium where the Sun Bowl is played. The stadium is built into the side of a mountain in El Paso. If you log onto our Youtube website (whenever I get it uploaded) you will be able to see footage from the stadium. The most interesting part of El Paso is driving in I-10 and looking to your left and seeing the Rio Grande River and on the other side of that river and MEXICO! This part of Mexico is exactly what I imagined it would look like, cluttered and dirty, but it is still really cool to be so close to Mexico.
Well, it is now 9:13pm and the Bears are hopefully getting ready to tie this ball game up.. So, I am going to lay down and watch the remaining few minutes of the game.
Our drive tomorrow starts here in El Paso and end in Phoenix, AZ, so we want to get up early so we can make a lot of stops before the sun goes down tomorrow :)
We love and miss everyone..
and Luke.. do you still love your new TV?

Houston, TX to Sonora, TX
Today we left Houston, Texas and started our drive to Sonora, Texas. We left the Weisinger's house around 11:00am. Nothing really interesting happened on the drive from Houston to San Antonio. In San Antonio, Texas, Kurt and I stopped and had lunch at a place called Taco Cabana, which is a really popular mexican fast food joint. Kurt said the main reasons Taco Cabana is popular is Texas is because it is cheap, quick food and it serves alcohol. (Don't worry Moms..we did not drink anything that contained alcohol). Then after lunch we headed towards Downtown San Antonio. In Downtown we stopped to see the Alamo. Unfortunately, we did not get a chance to go into the Alamo because of the parking prices, the crowd, and the valuables on the top of our vehicles. After seeing the Alamo, we got back on the interstate and heading towards our hotel.
We got to our hotel around 6:00pm last night. After settling in, Kurt and I ordered a pizza (using our gift cards.. thank you Donnie & Lanita) and watched the Giants football game.
We are off to bed. We are going to try to get on the road early tomorrow. Good night everyone.
